This is the 3rd time I've seen someone in this thread claim the OPDA/oil pump assembly is $300+. I've bought 3 over the last 6 months and they were all in the $120-$145 price range depending on the dealer. Anyone charging over $150 for a OPDA unit is price gouging.

I tried browsing this site for the part and they don't show it. Even searched by part # 53010624AC and nothing comes up. Did anyone buy one here?

That's weird, I started with parts catalog, entered 05 wrangler etc., entered part number and nothing shows up under the "description, year, MSRP etc. window. Even tried browsing through "electrical, ignition" and it's listing distributor parts like rotor, cap, etc. I don't get it.

Don't do any of that. When you Mopar Parts in the upper left part of the page it had a box for "search by part #" just enter the number and select Jeep on the box below and it will come right up.

Well, I've got almost everything ordered - OPDA, Echelin Gear, ZDDP Plus, and Mobil 1 Turbodiesel 5W-40. All I lack is the Cat Desert Gold Grease. Does anybody have an online source for it?

I tried that before, but it didn't work. Went ahead and tried again and it worked!? Wasn't holding my mouth right I guess.

Thanks Fog, and for all the effort you and others have put into resolving this problem.

Thanks for the link, just ordered one yesterday from the dealership... will be cancelling it in the morning. I checked four different dealerships and got 4 different prices from $272 and as high as $306... what can I say man Jeep/Chrysler is really ticking me off (no pun intended)!

Okay at first I thought it was too good to be true but ya'll just saved me $125 after my 2nd day air shipping charge... thanks so much for the link BigBob.

*edit... it WAS too good to be true!

OK I just ordered part number 53010624AC and paid for the part yet I looked at the part number I have here at the house and it is 53010615AC and doesn't come up in the search... they don't match I sure hope ya'll are correct on the part number as I need my Heep running by Wednesday.

Also noticed that the website has prices at wholesale so $275 is about right for the dealerships. I am also starting to notice all you guys that spoke up are driving 05 and 06 model LJ's... starting to get a bit nervous, guess I'll be up on the phone with that place at the bu** crack of dawn following up because if I remember correctly we don't use the same OPDA for an 03 as a later model 05 or 06.

I checked some of parts departments at the local dealerships I've bought a OPDA from and was amazed. The ones that were $140 are now over $250 on their webpage so they are price gouging because the MSRP of the part is still $140.

I always knew car stealerships were slimy but never would have believed they would price gouge on a part in short supply.

The OPDA from '05 - '06 is different from those used on '04 and earlier TJs.

Yup... I was being subtle, just didn't notice till after I ordered the part and thought to look back at who was barking numbers and it's the 05-06 LJ guys. I hope they don't make this a pain cancelling the order in the morning.

Anyone know how to order one for an 03 TJ for a significantly lower price?
