"Chili Pepper Ed?

anybody know anything about these "special editions"? As in, are they modified in any way other than the color and special stickers? I have one that I bought directly from the previous owner and I don't really know alot about it. I'm looking to do some minor modifications, but I'd like to know what I have first.

I'm not positive on how they are different from other wranglers though, I am pretty sure they had a rear D44. I also think they made 1500 "chili pepper" TJs.

I have never seen a YJ in a Chili Pepper ED besides it's not even Chili Pepper Red. As far as I know it was 2000 model year only and there were on 500. There were lots of them that color but only 500 got the badgeing. It wasn't a factory done item but it was from Fortec Jeep. I never had any luck locateing stickers for mine.

THAT is the key piece of info.
There have been lots of dealership "editions." Some are only decals, some have a few accessories added. (Chrome tube bumpers?! gimmeabreak) None are factory, and no value has been added.

I do like that Chile Pepper decal though!

The sticker the plaque and the chrome bumpers were the only difference between them and a chilli pepper red sport.

Yes - and - Maybe, first you have to determine if it was a Sport or X or whatever to start with. Coulda been anything.

Wow the old jeep commercials were so much better then ones we have today. You actually understood what was going on and why you were buying a jeep.... Anyway I did not know they had this special edition pretty cool.

They were all 4.0 but before the X package came about. I did find a link to the package on Fortec Dist. website one time. The sticker the plaque and the chrome bumpers added $3500

JEEP didn't.
Dealer "packages" were generally ripoffs. errr... sales gimmicks ;-)

as in $3500 for tube bumpers and a decal...
