Cherokee 4spd auto swap?

I posted a question about swapping a Cherokee 4spd auto into my Wrangler, replacing the 3spd auto, gaining OD. There was a reply posted stating that there will be an ECM issue. Does anyone know if I could replace my Wrangler ECM with one from a Cherokee, resolving the probelm with the tranny swap? Both came with the same motors, is there any other issues I am not thinking of? Thanks!

That is a good question. I would be skeptical that an XJ computer would be a drop in replacement for a TJ computer. That doesn't mean it can't work....I just would never get that lucky.

If you have one available, check the pin outs against the TJ's (you'll need good factory manual) and see if they match up one for one.
