changing shifter knob

This might be a dumb question but I want to change my shifter knob but I can't get mine off. I have a 97 wrangler and on my wifes 97 wrangler I just unscrewed it. As a matter of fact every stick shift I've ever had just screwed off but I can't get this one to move at all. Any thoughts? Thank you.

put a strap wrench on it...lefty loosy. But on some manuals (more than just Jeeps) there is a cap and a nut that needs to be removed.
