Center Console Speaker

Being new of owning my first Jeep TJ (2006), I have the center console out and see that you can put a speaker in it but I don't see any speaker wires to hook onto it. Has anyone ever put a speaker in and how do you wire it up? Maybe a video somewhere on it?
Thanks for any help!

They came stock with a subwoofer. Someone took it and the wiring out.

I have a 2001 that came with a sub. I've since replaced it with a Kicker from Quadratec.

sub woofer

Only some models came with the sub woofer option, I believe that all TJ's are wired for the subwoofer, the cable connector should be under the consul close to the E-break attached to the floor.

The center console sub-woofer was an option, 7 speaker/subwoofer sound system.

If you had it to start with, the console's storage area was cut to approx 10% vs without the option.

My 06 X came with a factory sub and was set up for a fleet vehicle so it had ZERO extras selected. If you have the spot for it, the wiring is probably there somewhere, unless someone took it out.

Check out this thread, I did this to mine and it's WAY better than stock. If you ever find the wiring that is.

My 03 had a factory sub. If you're gonna put a sub there, do it right the first time. The factory sub was a dinky 6.5''. SSV Works makes a sub box that will fit perfectly in there and will hold a 10''. It's fairly easy to replace.

Alright, some misinformation here:

- Jeep installed center consoles with speaker grilles without the factory sub option. The storage compartment goes all the way down

- The factory sub and wiring was part of the 7 speaker option package.

- The sub and amp is in an enclosure that takes up much of the console and there is only a shallow compartment

- You can't just mount a speaker in the non sub console. It is too flimsy and open.

- You can find factory sub enclosures but they go for a lot and there are better sound options out there

- There are plans in threads to build an enclosure to fit in the console o

- There are many small power subs on the market that are easy to install and put under a seat.
