cb radio mount

Anyone know a good way to mount a cb radio to the roll bar between the driver and passenger seats. It has to be a sturdy mount. If anybody has any other ideas for an out of the way mount let me know. Thanks.

~$8

A piece of shelf track, 2 4-3/4" U bolts and some misc small bolts to hold it together.

I simply put mine on top of the center of the dash over the radio. I like it in easy reach and it was hard to find a place to mount one of the full sized ones anyway.

I have a soft top. I had to cut the U bolts down slightly, but no interference at all. There is no visual obstruction either.

I'll see about getting a few, Mine is attached to the factory spreader bars with a self tapping screw on both ends, the top of the angle is tapered a bit on the ends also. I am using a Cobra 29 and I have plenty of room with the soft top, hard top, and the Safari. It also does not obstruct my rearview mirror.

Here is how I mounted my commercial/2M radio.

I'll be adding a cb in the next few months. It will be mounted on the board between the driver and passenger's heads, but facing forward with the mic hangar toward the front. Basically a mirror image of the existing radio...

I mounted my cb under the ashtray..dosent seem to crowd the shifter .. but not completely happy with it either. My buddy mounted his under the driver seat..completly out of the way. I personally like to see every gadget and all the blinking lights...guess I am a nerd
