Cargo Rack for Kayak

Looking to get a cargo rack system for my 01 TJ. I need it for my kayak.

Anyone had success with a particular brand? Did they have a kayak specific mounting system?

The one I am looking at is the Smittybuilt system with the removable crossbars so you can do the top without removing the rack.

I have the KargoMaster Congo Cage and safari basket. I can carry both my kayaks side-by-side and upside down on the basket. One kayak would only need the cage. My only complaint is that the wind noise is horrendous; however, this generally seems to be the case with roof racks. I remove the cage on long non-kayaking trips.

iv allways just used some ratche straps foam padding on the window and the roll bar..

looks pritty pimp rolln down the highway going to a river with two kayaks on the top of a jeep.

if your tryin to do it with your hard top / softop on id say basicaly any roof rack would be fine and just secure them to it.. no special mounts really needed.. just find a rack that you like that will do what you want

X2 on the KargoMaster Congo Cage. I went with the KargoMaster Yakima interface brackets, and Yakima cross bars so I could use my existing J mounts.

I have a Lange Orginal The Rack.
link http://www.truckstuffusa.com/racbylanor.html. I love the front rack. The back I can live with. I plan on fabricating a rear system simaluar to the front and add the TRAC RAC bar on the back. The only draw back as it comes from Lange is the rear gate won't open when carrying anything.
