Can't Take The Chrome - Feedback on Bumpers?

Bought this Jeep with the chrome bumpers and light bar, and I've just about had enough. I can powdercoat the lightbar, but the bumpers and tube steps have to go. I've read 50 threads now on bumpers, and definitely want a swing out tire carrier too, maybe a roof rack, but need more feedback on how far $900 or so will get me before I pull the trigger.

Something similar to these:

I only do light offroading. Mostly fire roads to campgrounds and mountain bike trails, but I still want function over form.

Any brands to stay away from, or other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

(Regeared to 4.56 for 33"s on the forums suggestions, and it worked out perfect! Thanks!!)

Nate's are quality bumpers.I've got the Warn, but not the tire carrier and they are nice and not super heavy either.$809 is high for those.I paid $350 shipped for both of mine.If you want real heavy duty stuff,Rampage and Body Armor make good products. They were out of my price range though

It's tough to beat the LOD tire carrier, IMO. There front bumpers are pretty nice, also.

This guy makes really nice bumpers and he is a fellow jeepforumer. If I didn't live in Wyoming I would probably get one of his instead of making one. Shipping is killer for Wyoming.

Have on fabricated for you! I had this one locally made for $400 out the door. Made from 1/4" steel, receiver and tabs welded both sides, strut swing it open and keeps it there, and also keeps it tight when closed.

Use some low-grit sand paper and sand the chrome down. Then paint it with Herculiner. If you don't want to try and sell them.
