canadian prices for '02 6 cylinder

Did anyone recently buy a NEW TJ 6 cylinder in the Vancouver area? What prices did you pay? I hear there may be a huge markup on these Jeeps, but salesmen appear willing to deal as I've been quoted anywhere from $23,500 to $28,000. I used to own a '97 Sahara, but sold it a few years ago...have been kicking myself ever since. Tears of sadness form in my eyes every time I see a TJ drive by. With 0% financing, I am seriously looking to buy a new Jeep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look to pay no more than $29,000+change CDN for a new fully loaded Sahara w/D44, dual tops option and cruise. There tends to be quite a range in prices for new TJ's, but that's about what I mine came to and was the best price locally. Vancouver should be easier to wheel and deal in, as you probably have quite a few Jeep dealers operating in the area. Good luck.

What is the current exchange rate for USD? If it's around 70% that would make a pretty good deal for me to come up and buy a new Jeep in Vancouver....29K=20,300USD. Is Jeep offering the 0% now? Sounds good.

'86 CJ7 I-6, 5 speed, 33 Pro Comp, BDS lift, CD, Hardtop and Doors, 4X Dr. Rockers, 4.88 gears, ARB Air Lockers front and rear, Dana 44 rear, 63K original miles...very sweet rig.

The US and Canadian governments have an agreement whereby you can not import a Canadian vehicle to the US if it is under a certain age (I think 5 years) without paying a penalty. From what I understand, this penalty is pretty hefty. You might want to check into this though... could be a way around it if you go through a used vehicle importer. My dad sold his 2000 Suburban to a Canadian dealer/exporter who exported it to the states, but I'm not sure of the regulations surrounding the exchange. Good luck.

A cdn vehicle cannot be sold into usa until it is six months old from original date of sale (first owner). 1000 cars a month are leaving vancouver.

If anyone is interested in driving up in squamish..etc and not into destroying their jeep contact me.. My friend in a Cherokee and me in my TJ go up quite often.
