Can I swap my A/C control panel from the slider style in 98 to the dials?

I would like to have the position for head and feet together. On my 98 I have the slider levers and I can only have feet and defrost. I have seen some slightly newer years with the same center dash bezel I have, before they switched to the rounded panel around 03 I think. It looks like it should be a direct swap, has anyone done this? Thanks.

Is your temp control a cable or vacuum? I have a 97 w/ cable and can't swap the 99 that's all vac. Not sure about the 98. Looks like the fan switch has the same pinout but the temp and position controls are much different. Let me know if you need the 99 control panel. It's for a Jeep w/ air and all vac controlled.

My 98 is the same as your 97 with a fan speed dial and to sliding levers (one for position and one temp), I bet it's cable. It sounds like 99 was the year they changed to vac, and I am SOL. BTW, I do have A/C in mine.

Its not a direct swap.

You have to swap out at least half the heater box so you have to pull the dash.

The dial controls are also problematic. Lots of issues with the resistor, switch, melted wiring, etc.

I'd stick with the slider controls just for their reliability. I too would also prefer the dial controls but not the problems that come with them.
