Essentially every bracket needs to come off. Do a search, there is TONS of info on this forum and elsewhere on this swap.

You could use this-

Now when it comes to the Ford 8.8 are the all universal when it comes to length and specs no matter what year vehicle it came off of.... Like is a 1987 Ford F-150 8.8 axle and a 2003 Expedition 8.8 axle synonymous when it comes to the same swap procedures?

i dunno about all 8.8 being identical, i dont believe they are? but u will be better off with an 8.8 out of an explorer from 95 to newer because they had the disc brakes and they have the same lug pattern as the tj

Much wider.

The reason explorer axles see used is because that are the correct width, have the best shafts, and come with disc brakes and several gearing options
Mustang axles have the weak 28spl shafts, f150's can have either shaft count but are wider.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
