Can an 8.8 handle 36 or 37's?

Just wondering for the long run, or if I should look for another axle (was thinking maybe the 9" from a ford F150)

Thanks.

'97 Forest green. ~6" total lift, 8.8, etc. 36" TSL's, winch. You get the drill.

35's would be best for an 8.8. 37's would eventually kill it. If your going over 35's, look at a HP dana 60.

why not go w/ the ford 9. depending on which one you get, it can be stronger than a 60

Hmmm....mine has more clearance than a 9"
Also the HP 9" carries an 8.8 ring gear and is not a true 9". The low pinion nine hangs like a boat anchor.

You can get a true high pinion 9 that does not use 8.8 gears.
