A/C mode switch inop

The A/C mode switch, the switch that controls the different modes, is completely inoperative. It used to be very touchy on selecting the different modes, but now it just spins and will not turn on anything.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Any suggestions?

Fixed...broken knob
