Vacuum Leak for sure. I had similar symptoms when I forgot to reconnect my vacuum reservoir after the Highline Fender Installation! Doh!

You'll find that when you engine brake or coast, the AC does what you want, because that's when it creates the vacuum... but when you're at more open throttle, the leak lets the vacuum dissapear and the vents change.

As for how you find the leak... good luck with that one.

Redneck it! Buy a can of carb cleaner & start spraying a little on the vac. lines. Start at the intake (be careful, do it with a cold engine, less chance of fire starting)and work ya way down line! You sill get a change in engine RPM when you find it!

Sounds funny, but is actually text book.
The defined loss of vac. is the gain of pressure, or atmosphere.
