C-clips????

I have an 04 wrangler Columbia edition, with the 3.07 35 rear, and I am looking at lockers and new gears, how do I know if my rear has a c-clip or not?

All Wrangler Dana 35c rear axles have had c-clip axle shafts since around 1989. Only those with the optional extra-cost stronger Dana 44 axle are not c-clip. It's generally not advisable to install a locker into a Dana 35c because of the added stress a locker adds that will eventually/usually result in a broken axle shaft.

so even with just 31" tires a locker will cause my axle to break? Is the front 30 ok with a locker?

The 30 is fine to lock. If you are going to the expense of locking and re-gearing, consider buying the Super 35 kit from Superior. It comes with a locker (Detroit or ARB) and 30 spline shafts so you will be good to go up to 35" tires....

The Detroit Locker Super 35 can be had for $850ish last time I saw one priced....
