Bushwacker flares are known for being weak and cracking easily.

Most peoiple who buy them are disappointed with them if they wheel their Jeep.

Guess I'm not "most". I've really had no issues with mine and have had sets on two different Jeeps that have been well-wheeled.

I just make sure I don't bounce off trees and rocks with the flares is all...

That said, the only thing I dislike about them is due to their design they actually close the wheel opening down a bit.

I have them also and wheel quite a bit. I haven't cracked one yet but, have heard..........seen it happen to others. I have a lifetime warranty so I guess when/if it does eventually happen I will just have to order up a new one.

Where did you get the warranty? This is the first I have heard of it.. it may make them worth getting now!

I'm also no fan of Bushwhacker flares. Sure they look good but they are molded from a very brittle plastic that will break well before a better quality flare from someone like Warn will. I'd be surprised if they truly have an all encompassing manufacturer's lifetime warranty. If there is one, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 'Limited' warranty that doesn't cover breakage from "abuse" (like from offroading).

Like othere have said... avoid them if you intend to do any off roading.
I have watched several Jeeps in my club shatter them when scuffing a tree off road.
Everyone that has busted them THEN went out and bought a more flexible brand like Warn or Xenon's.

BWs come with a lifetime warranty.
I bet they won't cover trail damage.

"Bushwacker, Inc. warrants its products with a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original consumer against any defects resulting from workmanship or materials. This warranty applies when the product is used under normal conditions for the purpose for which the product is designed, and does not apply to normal wear and tear or damage related to alteration, accident, misuse, improper care or repair, or negligence."

There ya go, as I guessed. BW's "lifetime" warranty does not cover any damage caused by offroading.

I like mine I have heard they weak and crack easily, but mine have been great and have held up to some good wacks on trees. I think the whole thing is a dumb argument. Metal bends when you hit a tree, glass breaks when its hit by a rock, and the flare may break if you hit a rock or tree. SO is the best solution to run plain vanilla flares, 1/4 steel flares, or flat fenders? They are just there to cover the tires. Bushwacker look great in my opinion so I run them.

BTW I think all flares are a PITA to install.

You'll realize the importance of this argument if you break one of your flares.

I corrected one word for you...

I saw a video of my TJ snaking through a very tight trail with rocks reaching out to grab everything they could. What amazed me is how much abuse the Warn flares I was running then withstood without a problem, they just shrugged the rocks off. Had they been Bushwhackers, I would have had at least two busted up flares.

I wish I was still running Warn flares, the Bestop flares I'm now running were cracked during the last run through Sledgehammer. I think all four of my flares will be completely gone by year's end though.

They donn't call them "Treewackers" for a reason.

Bestop makes the best flares for the money. The coverage is good for my 33s.
