burnt jeep rebuild. looking for tips and opinions.

So i got the jeep back from the insurance, and this is what i am looking at. the finished goal is to make the jeep fully functional and mostly undetectable fire damage visually. while keeping the cost as low as possible.
I am going to have to replace the wire harness. does the inside harness have some kind of clip at the firewall or does it run through and clip up in the engine bay? also do you think i could save the heater box with a few modifications?

any tips or places for cheap replacement parts would be helpful.
Thanks

My wife was driving it home from work and smoke started coming out of the dash. Some passers by were quick to hit it with the fire extinguisher and disconnect the battery. it was an electrical fire, i am guessing from the heater control switches. it totaled the jeep and i bought it back figuring i could make it a project and toy when its finished.

Don't try and nickel and dime this thing or you are asking for trouble, no telling where the electrical problem started. If you plan to nickel and dime the project the strip and sell if for parts. to do this right take out the interior, sand and repaint. Then buy a new dash, you maybe able to get many of the parts you need from Davey's Jeeps, they should have may of the parts you need, DON'T try to save anything replace it all. Obviously you can probably save the seats, and the instrument cluster but the rest looks like it's done for including the heater box. The for the center console but a tuffy center console, you should have a fair amount of money laying around since they totaled it. On second thought you may want to change the seats too, the stuff in the fire extinguisher is corrosive, so anything it touches should be replaced. Your going to need new carpet too, might be a good time to have some one linex the inside for you, instead of replacing the carpet since you will have everything striped out of paint anyway.

My first move would be to call davey's jeeps or olympic 4x4 in snohomish and see if they've got a everything. Just gut it and get used replacements for everything.

i would have let them keep it. fire damage is way too random in what it does.

in my opinion go to a gunk yard and pull everything out of a wrecked jeep and track it back. Take pictures so you know where things are going.

dump the heater box - it'll either smell like plastic forever or has stuff melted inside,
