Bumper end caps on 97

Has any one put the new anti-jug bumper end caps on a 97 TJ? I went to go order some and they told me they wouldn't fit... The bumpers look the same, but they could have changed a little, dont know. let me know if it is posible, thanks

Jake

I love the ones on mine. I would check with your dealer first before getting them online. I paid (after TN tax) $12.02 for all for endcaps.

The fronts look pretty cool, but I would love these for my rear bumper if they didn't cost so much.

They are from Quadratec. compared to replacing the whole bumper, they're pretty cheap. Compared to my $6 factory caps though, they are overpriced. . I still like them though.

How did you get that screw in? I got mine today and the endcap isn't threaded, so I ask the dealership and they told me i needed some "pushpin plugs" that run around 80 cents a peice.

I want to put the original screws back in.

I just got my front ones today (rear will be in tomorrow). They look great, especially in comparrison to the old "milk jugs". For the screws, take the nut inserts off the old ends and use them with the new end caps.

Seems to me that it's as simple as putting a nut on the end of the bolt!

I only have the rear version of these newer style caps. I used the push pins and have come down on a few rocks that have pushed up the bottom corner of that bumper a little, and the 'push pins' have held up fine...

Time to go buy some nuts then. Hopefully they don't cost me more than the puspins!

On mine, I used the little nutserts from my old "milk jugs". They will be looser on the caps, but you should still be able to tighten them up.

To get the nutserts off the old endpieces, I used a straight screwdriver and a pair of pliers and they popped right off.
