Surely. I can't directly link to them because the website is funky, but go to Kragen.com and search for "HID". Click on "H.I.D. Light Kits." They have a 7" version for $100 each, and a 4" version that's $95 each. Two wire hookup because of the internal/incorporated ballast ... read about them in a recent Jp magazine article.

Unfortunately, they must have recently hiked their prices up because I got mine at $90 each for the 7" (or $85 if I wanted the 4" version). They must have recently gotten very popular to induce the price hike.

Hi, just cause I'm a little unclear on this, did you do a HID conversion with your headlights too?

I just placed an order for the Kragen 7"s and was considering upgrading the headlights as well, but I'll see how I like the Kragens first, if I'll even find I'd like more light on the trail too.
Right now I have the IPF H4 housing with IPF fatboy bulbs in them, the work pretty good, I just have a cracked conector that I'm trying to figure out how to replace it, if I can just cut it off and attact a new one with a little bit of suadering.

By the way, this is the kit I was thinking of going with before I found out about the Kragen 7"s

or possibly shelling out an extra $100 for their premium kit:

Oh, and nice job on that bumper, I really like how you spent the time making the ends come up for extra clearence.

Yes, I did do an H4 HID conversion on my regular headlamps (Cibie) as well. I've heard a lot from ElectroSport and I like the way that they've actually engineered a standard H4 headlamp assembly with fluting on the lens to adapt to the HID bulbs. At near $400+ for the premium kit, you're approaching some other kits that utilize projector lenses.

If you're willing to be the test mule, I'd say the ElectroSport options are far greater than what I did ... which was buy a cheap(er) H4 Plug-N-Play bi-Xenon kit for my Cibie lamps and modify the bulb shield for a better cutoff. I'll be doing a full projector retrofit with Acura TL projectors (or the like) sometime ... but if you report good news on the ElectroSport kits with a picture of a good cutoff, then I'd say you'd be doing a lot of us TJ-ers (and JK-ers) looking for HID options a great justice.

You will NOT be disappointed in the Kragen 7" HID lights. They're blinding.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, I might just wait till I get the Kragen's and test them out for myself before deciding weather to get hids for the headlights as well.

I do kinda like the idea of being the test mule for Jeepforum board, as so many others over the years have helped me in deciding what to do next to my Jeep.
If I do, I'll report back here and link to a new post for any interested.

It's called the summer projects, not early spring.

Everything's on hold right now as I'm too sore to lift the angle grinder (see the P90X thread in GD).

For right now, the bumper is mounted to the TJ with primer. No bar, no shackle mounts. I only mounted it initially to see how it looked and to decide how I wanted the bar to be. Now I'm too tired to get it done, haha.

But like I said, all in good time. The auxiliary fuse box is mounted on top of the battery ... I'll have pics as soon as I do the rewiring. JESSE, I'll have the pictures of the backside of the bumper once I start working on it again ... no use taking the pictures if I haven't added the gussets/supports yet. OBA will be next after the bumper. Then the axle.
Early spring is over. I am here again to hassle you for OBA updates.

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

I couldn't wait, I signed up today to be the test mule. Should be getting my ElectroSport standard HID kit next week sometime. I couldn't quite justify spending the extra on the premium kit. But I'll link to a new post I'll make on the HID upgrades once I get them and wire them up.

Haha, I know, right? Still no progress on the OBA setup ... work's hectic and dedicating an hour or more per day to the P90X program doesn't help. I'll personally PM you when I make progress ... it'll most likely be in one swoop so when I get a day off I'll knock it out.

Sounds good ... I saw you in the other HID thread as well: good luck.

As far as developments on my end, the bumper is holding up awesome (I mean it just sits there on the front of the TJ so I guess that's normal, LOL). Get compliments all the time from people wanting to know where I bought it. Too bad ... it's a one-off by JeepinTJ99. I use the lights on backroads whenever I can and my God are they sweet.

Another project to add to the list: full OEM Bi-Xenon HID retrofit using a pre-assembled kit from The Retrofit Source in combination with some eBay 7" round headlights. Should be a fun little project, and I'll end up with OEM-quality Bi-Xenon headlights for under $400.

I'll most likely go with the bi-xenon (Acura) TL stage 1 kit ... most compact so minimal trimming of the sheetmetal behind the TJ's headlamp assembly, and has the reputation of the best performing bi-xenon projector out there.

Just a little update: started working on the OBA project again, finally. Redoing the ABS tray for a better fit and more secure attachment. My other design was crap. All I have to do to finish the plate is get better hardware and weld all the nuts to the bottom for easy installation/removal without having to get under the TJ (plus it requires two people to do it that way) ... and prime/paint again.

Just some pics of the newer design (thanks for all the previous people who have done the compressor on the ABS tray b/c the pictures helped out a lot).

That's it for now, I should have it done soon b/c I'm going to work on it after work all week. I haven't figured out if I'm going to remote mount the compressor air filter ... seems like it'd get clogged really quick being mounted in the engine bay as it is ... I might slip through the firewall and mount it high in the driver's footwell like my alarm brain is. We'll see ...

Another small update. Spent yesterday's after work time installing a Rough Country 3" II lift in my friend's '01 XJ which would have went smoothly ... if all four of the upper rear shocks bolts didn't break. Oh well.

Welded the motor mounting nuts to the bottom of the tray for easier installation/removal, painted it up, put the compressor mounts on, and the pressure switch zip-tied securely to the tray next to the motor. Should be clean. Tonight I'm going over all the fair fittings I have (since I got the kit second-hand ... well 1/5-hand since it was never used) and going to the hardware store tomorrow to round up the rest of the parts.

So I finalized my hose and wire routing for the OBA system and bought a few specialty items to make the job go quicker/easier: all brass pressure regulator, a compression fitting tee, and some assorted barb fitting & clamps.

I stole the schematic from Viair's documentation and altered it to reflect how my system is going to be ... install should start tomorrow night into the rest of the week (realize there's going to be some hose between the tank and the regulator ... I just don't know where/how I'm going to mount it yet):

It's in!! No pictures though I injured my back last week so I'm moving at an even slower pace (if that's even possible).

Got the compressor on the tray (with the pressure switch), and it's bolted down in the engine bay! The tank isn't in yet, but all the air lines are run back to where it'll be. I'm going to the PA Jeep show this Saturday, so I hope I'll have everything in by then.

I also plumbed the lines from where the tank will be, to the compression tee (3-way) fitting which branches two lines out: one into the cab for the pressure gauge, and the other to the pressure switch.

Pics soon!
