Haha, all in good time my good friend.

It's called the summer projects, not early spring.

Everything's on hold right now as I'm too sore to lift the angle grinder (see the P90X thread in GD).

For right now, the bumper is mounted to the TJ with primer. No bar, no shackle mounts. I only mounted it initially to see how it looked and to decide how I wanted the bar to be. Now I'm too tired to get it done, haha.

But like I said, all in good time. The auxiliary fuse box is mounted on top of the battery ... I'll have pics as soon as I do the rewiring. JESSE, I'll have the pictures of the backside of the bumper once I start working on it again ... no use taking the pictures if I haven't added the gussets/supports yet. OBA will be next after the bumper. Then the axle.

Finally got to work on the bumper some ... for now it is done until I take it to the off-road shop to get the winch guard bent up and the shackle mounts welded on. I don't have the material nor the means to bend tubing for it ... and I don't have 3/4 -1" material for the shackle mounts, so I'll let them take care of that.

Really, the only thing I did today was fix some bad welds and primed it. Not worried about any runs b/c I'm going to sand it down to get it looking good before I shoot color on. I also added some temporary tabs for the license plate ... I was tired of putting it on top of the dash to stay legal in MD. The tabs will be removed when I add a winch and fairlead mount.

I'm also going to modify the "JEEP" swaybar cover to fit again. Looks sloppy without it. Until I get a thru-crossmember swaybar system like a Sway-Loc.

JESSETHELJ, your pics are here, too, just for you.

I dunno, I felt like messing around in Photoshop, lol. I didn't know how to swirl things so I figured it out ... it doesn't really serve a purpose because I've never done it in any picture in my last 5 years here.

EDIT: BTW, any opinions on the color I should shoot on? Obviously black, whether it be semi-gloss, flat, or bedliner. But I was also thinking a dark silver, or that "hammered" finish that one of those paint companies has. Just something different. Any suggestions?

Looks good dude can't wait to see it up at RC and as far as a finish a nice hammered black or even a darker silver would look bad against that blurple. Let me know when you want to roll the 8.8 under that beast.

Well the bumper is done!!! So stoked. I had the fella's over at Appalachian Off-road in Westminster, MD to bend some tubing up for the grill/winch gaurd (becuase I didn't have any tubing or even a bender). Johnny even threw in two 3/16" thick light tabs that I promptly welded on to get the position of the 7" HID lights perfect.

I primed and sanded, then painted 4-5 coats of Gunmetal Gray/Silver. Not chrome, not silver ... just right and goes great with the "Blurple" TJ. Good suggestion Zach

I'll probably sand and paint again down the road when I cut the fog light holes out (or mount them on top of the bumper, flanking where the winch would go under the gaurd). There's a couple spots that got really messed up but you can't tell unless you're up close.

The HIDs are just mounted for now, and I'll be wiring them up to the aux fuse box tonight, hopefully.

Pictures around lunch time today or tonight!!!

EDIT: Just a teaser pic I took on my cell phone yesterday before I did any work to it.

Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfuction or uninstall themselves at any time.

Here 'ya go, in all it's glory. The lights aren't wired yet, and yes, I know I'm missing a couple mounting bolts ... gotta' square up the holes a little. All in all, I love it, and the satisfaction of knowing I made it myself ... is awesome!!

Well snap, these things are bright. How bright? You cast a shadow if you walk in front of them in the daytime. What sun? I'll have nighttime photos soon.

Can't beat that for $200. Only a little more than the 150W KC's, and considerably less than the "nicer" lights.

Light anybody? The pattern is perfect! Plenty of spread to see sides of the road (deer) with a flat spot that throws WAY far away. I still have to aim them up just a tad because it uses teeth that tighten down when you mount it to determine it's vertical alignment. I need it right in between the teeth, LOL. Gotta' figure that out ...
