Noticed a slight deterioration of something in my suspension last month or so. When I hit a bridge expansion joint or any thing that is somewhat of a bump in road my shifter shakes along with wheels. Had wheels balanced and rotated. Track bar bushings are good and tight. This isn't death wobble yet. What is next step? Thanks
Steering does shake too. Sorry for late replies. Haven't had time to get under it , working 12 hours day taking its toll. Tires have 28 psi 33x12.5x15 bfg all terrain. This seems to be triggered when BOTH front wheels hit bumps at same time. Wonder about control arms. They are stock, but seems like tranny is moving along with shake has me at a loss. When I take off from a stop , I feel a little movement that wasn't always there
See if the axle side front upper control arm bushing on the passenger side can be pried side to side with a big screwdriver. If the hole it's in is a bit loose now, it will do that and bumps will set off the front end. it's one of many causes, but easy to check.
Fixes include tack welding it to the mount (worked for me) or the Currie johnny joint replacement kit.
Not the rubber, but the outer metal sleeve. If you look at it, the outer cylinder sleeve is part of the bushing, and it is press-fit into the mount, which is the vertical bent steel part attached to the axle tube. He's saying if the connection is loose, tack weld it just enough to hold it but not enough to burn out a lot of the rubber.
Will be under jeep today, will post back what I find. This is not a good time of year to do this.! Its cold. Thanks for all responses, anyone has anything to add to this please respond
