So you have ZJ V8 front and rear coils on your TJ for roughly 3" lift? On the ZJ tierod... all V8 has the larger. I got the inner tierod and coupler at my local AutoZone, had to go elsewhere for the outter tierod as their computer lists a 6CYL outer for a V8. Cost was about $110 total. |

Was anything required other than shortening it and new u-joints? I take it the splines match? I'm thinking of doing this, instead of a full SYE/CV, to eliminate slight vibes with my small lift.

isn't there a dirt-cheap alternator upgrade? Why yes: http://www.bc4x4.com/tech/2004/jeepalt/
Has anyone done this? Also, is there a rebuild kit (bushings etc) you an buy to 'refresh' the bone-yard alt before installing?

I used this set up in the rear for my 8.8 I had to get a flange apapter. If you are just putting it on a dana 35 or 44, you don't need anything else for the shaft. However, this shaft will not work without an SYE.

Oops, sounds expensive!

If memory serves, the OME ZJ (and other) springs come in light, medium, and heavy duty. If you don't have the heavy duty one's, this could be contributing to the problem with the winch on the front. I believe the difference is in the diameter of the spring, but not really sure. I'll see what I can find.
Have you taken any measurements to see how far your off.
