Just seen this since it was brought to the top. I read thru and didnt see the Rodeo/Passport D44 on there. They have 6 lug but can easily be redrilled to 5 and can come with 4.56 gears!! i have one i got for free laying at my folks.

You'll need to relocate your track bar mount or install an adjustable track bar. The '4" for SYE' rule isn't a clear cut and established rule. You won't be fine with 3.5" but then suddenly have vibes at 4". Every Jeep is different. Drive it after the lift and if you feel vibes drop the T-Case until you can splurge on the SYE/CV.

Just picked up an explorer front driveshaft myself after reading this. Got it for $30 and it was already pulled from vehicle.

Now just need to order a SYE kit and get the shaft fixed up. Great info in here to help save a few $$$ for sure.

Is it possible to make this thread a sticky at the top or whatever it is called. Sure would make finding it easy. I know the search function works for that. Just an idea for us nubes.

if you're in texas, I wouldn't guess too bad.

I'm in salty winter muddin ohio and every bolt on my jeep is seized. Mine was pretty straightforward, and if you search around there are some good writeups. The only snag was removing the pitman arm. A pickle fork did not cut it. a harbor freight puller did not cut it. We ended up calling our mechanic buddy and he brought a quality, adjustable pitman arm puller and the beast came right off!

We somehow broke the clock spring though, so I am airbag and horn-less til I fix that. And no, we didn;t turn the wheel while the box was off.

Seems like a lot of dodge parts swap over to the tj.. What about driveshafts? I was looking at a ZR2 s10 and the driveshafts looked bomb proof, I was wondering if they or (if the dakota maybe had tough shafts too?) could be cut to fit a sye/front/rear tj?
You need the 160 amp alternator from the 04 Dodge Durango with the 4.7L V8. You will have to cut off one mounting bracket from the alt, but iother than that its a direct bolt up.
