98-99 Durango, 318 engine, with 4x4 option. Plow option is available on 98, IINM, and has a lower lock-to-lock rotation.

Look two posts above. You'll have to keep your current pitman arm because the Durangos use a ball joint to connect to the drag link. At least mine did. The Durango box bolts right up to 97-02 (may be wrong on the latter year) and requires some modding on 03+ (which has been reported on, use the search function to find it).

'03+ extra steps: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/durango-steering-gear-late-model-tj-03-06-a-816687/

The Grand Tie Rod and ends that are stronger than the stock TJ ones are from a '95-'98 (or is it '99?) V8, both 5.2 and 5.8, I believe.

Okay thanks!

Any idea what year dodge amp will fit an 03? It has to be the 4.7 for the 160 amp right? I thought i read it in here somewhere but cant find it now...

Seems like a lot of dodge parts swap over to the tj.. What about driveshafts? I was looking at a ZR2 s10 and the driveshafts looked bomb proof, I was wondering if they or (if the dakota maybe had tough shafts too?) could be cut to fit a sye/front/rear tj?

Spring Swap

I was reading the post on the ZJ front springs, and moving the TJ's front springs to the rear. Has anyone else tried this? What else is needed? It sounds to simple to add 3". The way it sounds no lines need to be extended, or anything else. Just swap the springs!! Do the stock absorbers still work with this mod.?

been their done that, does it work, yes. will you be happy, no.. just buy the proper springs, the zj frt springs ride like crap (stiff), if you have a 6cly, you wont get that much lift 1.5" woo-ho! getting the tj frt springs in the rear is not easy, and you end up with a very bouncy ride. just call jeffery @ ROUGH COUNTRY spend $300, and get a real nice lift..

Mike, shock absorbers and lines only *really* need to be changed if you're changing the control arms too. Unless your shocks are on the short side, it's the control arms that limit droop - not the shocks or the lines. With 2", 3", 4" of lift, doesn't matter. It's not the springs that limit droop, so chaging springs will not endanger your lines. If you change the control arms though, all bets are off for the shocks and lines!

For an XJ or ZJ, the YJ rubber lines are a bolt in swap, and much longer, for the front. Is this true for a TJ too?

A longer rear line is not required for a lifted ZJ, don't know about how the TJ lines are run. Again, the YJ one is a good option for a lifted XJ.

Stupidly simple but the little clip that holds the hood prop kept popping off and I finally lost it. Grabbed a spare rare earth magnet and a little electrical tape to keep it from sliding up and down the rod (hehe) and lo and behold, it works.

i have a stock set up except for some RC 2-4in hydro shocks and I just came across some RE 3.5in coils. If I go from stock to 3.5in do you guys know what else I might need? Like trac bar relocation brackets, pitman arm, or t-case drop? Shouldn't need SYE or CV shaft b/c its under 4inches right?
