What's the advantages of the Durango stearing box swap?
Also: What years Durango are compatible with what years TJ?

Will ZJ rear springs lift a TJ 3" in the rear?

I'm working on a camping trailer, i need 3" rear TJ coils (or something compatable) to level it out behind my XJ. I need the pigtails to be the same size.

ZJ coils with isolaters from a V8 will lift the front about 3"

Crown Vic rear springs will lift the rear about 3.5"
Try to get the ones from a police interceptor, they are a little stiffer.

ZJ rear coils have a 4.02" inner diameter
TJ rear coils have a 5.05" inner diameter

I believe ZJ rears are only pig-tailed at one end as well. TJs are at both ends.

Also not sure they'd give the right amount of lift anyway, so probably not worth the time to try and make them work.

I think this set up gives you 3.5" in back and about 2.5" in front for the 4.0L engine....a little lift more in the front for the 2.5L.

Where are those prices for the ZJ springs from?? For example is it a website/junkyard/autoparts store. Thanks in advance

Those are prices for new springs from an auto parts store. They may be a little dated, but still relative.

my TJ is almost completely built of OPJ (other peoples junk). At various times I have had or helped others with:

-V8 ZJ tie rod.
-ZJ complete front axle (3.73 ratio) instead of paying for regear.
-XJ complete HP front axle
-TJ axle shafts in older model XJ housing (for bigger ujoints)
-ZJ, XJ, or TJ front driveshaft to build a rear CV driveshaft
-ZJ front springs for lift
-ZJ disk brakes
-ZJ or XJ stock pitman arm = 4" drop pitman arm for TJ
-Used 4.10 rubicon "thick" gears to regear a D44 so we would not have to buy a new carrier.

I'll think of more later.....

I have ZJ springs front and back and mine is level, so i would try that if you can before spending money on other springs...

So after I get it cut, welded and balanced for the right length, this ujoint is the one I will need for the axle side of the driveline?

Thanks

I am now on my 3rd front axle. First was the original TJ, next was a 3.73 ZJ, now I'm putting in a 4.11 XJ HP.

As far as I know any V8 ZJ tie rod will work 94-98. I did this mod because I had a beat up ZJ in the yard and a spare TJ tie rod laying around, so I traded them. Not sure how much I'd actually pay for it. It is substatially heavier than the TJ, XJ rod. You can also buy it new from the parts store (one end of it is a tie rod end, but the other end is built into the rod itself-ie no replaceable end on it).

This is off subject but i've been having problems with my front springs. I have the OME zj 1" lift front springs. I got them to help with the weight of my Warn 8274. Yall say that the stock ones are 3" lift so these should be 4" lift, right? They are not even level with the 2.5" Skyjackers that I have on the rear. Can anyone help me figure out why?

Thanks

Another junkyard topic....pick up an intermittent wiper switch from a Cherokee or Neon if your Wrangler is not equipped with that option. Should be cheap, and its an easy swap.

dont use a ZJ front axle, its a LP D30. If you are going for a front axle, get one from a XJ where it is a HP
