Before I do any heavy(?) hauling with it it will probably put some reinforcement on the inside. I sure don't want to crack the hard top

I'm sure you realize you'll need more than just the springs. I don't think their will be any that lift it 6". If their were Id be interested in some because you can cut them down smaller.

Top is not made to support any weight at all.

But it WILL support some weight if you take care and do not overdo it.

you can buy single sets of springs from companies like Rubicon Express for not too much. I was looking at doing this same kind of thing with my cherokee. you might have to run 4.5 inch springs and like a 1.5 inch hockey puck.

I have the Yakima rack system - both directly on my hardtop and the one that hooks to my rollbars when the top is off (See Quadratec catalog). I haul around a couple of 15 foot Ocean Kayaks on that hardtop all the time and it has never sagged...and also the megawarrior rack filled up...and the hardtop is 11 years old. Just be smart about it and you should be fine. Nice job on that rack install - it looks awesome - and it will be very handy in the years to come!
