Budget Junkyard Upgrades
Well, after reading a few other threads I have become more interested in budget junkyard upgrades. What I mean when I say "budget junkyard upgrades" are upgrades like installing a ZJ tie rod into a TJ or using ZJ coils in the front of a TJ. Just wondering some of the things others have come up with to upgrade their TJ's who are trying to save some dough.

Yes, crown vic springs will lift the back about 3 inches.

Nope, springs haven't sagged. I'm running 32 tsl now, have plenty of room. Hopefully I can get some 35s with tax return, should fit nicely. I bought the springs new for 70ish bucks at advanced auto parts. I think its actually a little more than 3 inches of lift, especially now with the 8.8.
I used to run xj up country springs with a 2 inch spacer, then I bought some RE XJ 3.5 springs from my friend.

Here's some info on the spring swaps.
Grand Cherokee V8 front springs and isolaters - ZJ springs are Moog CC-782 and list for $56.69/pair Crown Victoria rear springs - CV springs are Moog CC-817 and list for $52.39/pair I think this set up gives you 3.5" in back and about 2.5" in front for the 4.0L engine....a little lift more in the front for the 2.5L.

ZJ front springs installed on front TJ provide 3" lift. TJ front springs moved to TJ rear will lift rear to level out the Jeep.
What's the advantages of the Durango stearing box swap? Also: What years Durango are compatible with what years TJ?

I pulled a CV shaft out of a ford explorer and had it shortend to the correct length. Total cost $130 after replacing the u-joints.
