bucking

My 97 2.5 with manual trans likes to to buck @ low rpms driving thru the woods. On the street under harder acceleration you do not notice it. It does this even when its warmed up. Do I need a new tps ?

It could be that or something else. Run a diagnostic test on it see what codes come up.

Just so you all know, If I think you're an ******* I will gladly tell you. I'm not your everyday girl, so don't expect me to act like one. And yeah, I do like it topless and dirty!

If it's not an engine malfunction, it's probably the way you're controlling the throttle; try keeping the right of you shoe pressed against the transmission tunnel while depressing the gas pedal, especially when off road. It will help steady the jerky movement of your foot hence making throttle control smoother, no more bucking....

Yeah, it sounds to me like you're just being jerky with the throttle. BTW, my car did this when I accidentally left my parking brake on once

It only happens @ low rpms , say 1200- to 1600. This will happen in 2wd & 4 hi. It will also do it with my foot off the gas in 1st gear just crawling along. It starts bucking just a little then gets worse untill I press in the clutch and start over . Maybe I just need to run this little 4 banger @ higher rpms. this jeep has only 46,000 miles on it !
