Buchanan Precision Machine seat riser

I ordered a set of Buchanan Precision Machine seat risers and installed them yesterday in the jeep. The installl was failry simple besides one bolt that would not come out (Impact wrench took care of that). The seat risers come in either 1" 1.5" or 2" depending on your height. I went with the 1.5". I won't be able to test it on any trails for a little while because of the weather, but it does make a difference driving on the street. The only thing I don't like is I can't tilt my steering wheel so it is a little close to my legs, other than that I really like it. I'll post an update once I find out if it does make a difference or not on the trails.

Welcome to the BPM club! I got the same size as you, the 1-1/2". I found that I can see much better over the front end which is a bonus. My primary reason was to help a bad right hip; the angle of my leg (at the hip) to be over the gas pedal is not as steep with the seat higher. Much more comfortable now.

Do they make kits to lower the seats? Every stoplight I have to bend down to see when it turns green.

With the 2003 model, Jeep lowered the seat height 1.5" to comply with government air bag deployment regs.

Ditto on BPM

I ordered 1.5" Buchanan Seat Risers from Northridge4x4 and they're great! I can see my beautiful Jeep TJ hood and the street.

Without the boosters, I couldn't use the sun visors for anything; they were so high that they didn't block the sun.
Love the boosters, and they put things like the gearsift and the armrests back in the right place relative to me.

I'm 5 11 and any time i come to a light im leaning over to see the light, or trying to catch the reflection off my hood. But if all of you guys are saying it makes your general driving view better i might have to look into um.

Lifting your seat will not help you if your seat is too high now.

People used these back in the day. Just the ticket for being able to see stop lights without straining your neck.
