I really like it. Wish Jeep had of done it a long time ago. It's kind of like a new age Scrambler. It's a little pricy for me but if I had the money and time I would definitely do it. I travel alot with my job and have seen 3 that I can remember on my trips from Mississippi to Louisiana , really stands out from the crowd.

How is it like the new Scrambler? Now an LJ is like a new Scrambler. The Brute is cool but I'm not gonna drop $9k on a kit

I saw one up close with the highline fender kit...completely different Jeep. IT WAS FREAKIN SWEET!!! If I had the extra money and no bills, I'd do it right away. If you are in that situation and just have to throw money at your jeep, DO IT!!!

Go to gr8tops.com. They are located in Columbia, SC. I have seen their half top conversion and it is a quality piece. It looks best on an Unlimited, although you can still do it for a TJ. For less than 25% of the AEV kit, you can do your own half top conversion. I saw a red LJ Rubicon with one. He line-xed the back and fabbed up some side rails. Very nice.

after looking into things a bit i think making a tube frame bed might save some $$ if you do it yourself (bed cost alone is 5K)

I would LOVE to do the conversion...
Just gotta wait until the cash is available and then see if I can keep the car street legal over here after the conversion... not because there's any doubts to the quality of AEV's kit... just because it's never been done before here... I think getting the conversion done in the states and importing a complete vehicle might be easier from a registration point of view. I've had AEV's heat reduction hood and I've now got the Highline Fender Kit... I'm very happy with the work that AEV does. |

It's a personal taste. I personally don't care for it. If I wanted a pickup truck, I'd just get a pickup truck. But, it is different, and that's always cool.

Maybe if Jeep made a modern Scrambler and I needed a pick-'em-up truck; but I see no reason--especially at this cost--to do this to a Jeep. But, like I said, that's just my opinion! Cheers! M2 |
