Looks good, you have a couple of my future mods already, lockout hubs and rockers.

I made the site tube by tapping the center of the plugs to 1/8" NPT and putting some brass fittings in.
The filter set-up is just an aftermarket remote filter mount...

Cool, I might be doing that soon. Thanks.

It's been a little while since I did any mods, but last night I was trying to replace the rear shocks and broke the upper mounting bolts off again. (it has happened twice before.)

Instead of repairing and reusing the original flawed design again, I have decided it is time for an upgrade and will be doing the outboard shock mod as pioneered by mrblaine.

For the rear shocks I am going to use BDS 5500 Series hydraulic shocks, part # 55650 which has an entended length of 26.20 inches, collapsed length of 15.80 inches, with travel of 10.40 inches. The body diameter of the shocks is 2 3/8" for reference. My choice of length was based upon discussion with mrblaine and the fact that my Jeep only has a 2.5 inch lift on it, and I have no intention of lifting it higher, so these should provide all of the travel that my suspension will require.

To fab the mounts I will be using the Ford shock towers (part #E5TZ-18183-A), my local Ford dealer actually still stocks these, he sold 6 this morning!! For the lower shock pin I am using Dorman / Motormite # 31001 shock bolt kit available at CarQuest. The shoulder area is 5/8" diameter with a length of 1.25" which works out perfectly for the compressed length of the BDS shock bushings.

Pics to come as I will start the fab work tomorrow morning (my wife won't have any part of me doing this today on our anniversary) LOL

A big Thank you goes out to Stu for his write up on relocating the shocks and also to Humboldt for this one: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/outboarding-rear-shocks-upper-spring-bucket-relocation-929056/ they both have been very helpful on doing this mod. Also to mrblaine for all of answering my questions, and being willing to answer the phone when I call.

Well, as part of this, I decided to relocate the upper spring buckets also due to the stress placed on the coils.

In the process of taking things apart, I found this.

On both rear springs to bottom coil was broken off, so a quick call to Brad at Diversified Creations had a new set of BDS coils on the way for the morning.

So the first on the agenda was to remove the spring buckets, trim and reposition them.

Some new bumpstop extensions made up, 1" tall, also much better contact than before to the lower.

Once I was Happy with the spring bucket locations, I welded them in solid.

On to the lower shock mounts, I cut off the factory mounts and replicated what mrblaine did on stu's Jeep, I made up some skids for the control arm mount and then placed my shock mounts onto them.

I decided I was unhappy with lower mount angle, so I cut them off and remade them.

After the angle was corrected I could move on to the upper lay-out.

In the mock up I found the bump stops to still be a little short so I remade them to 1 3/4". (not welded yet)

The shock tower, cut to length

No going back now!!!

Full bump, both sides

Full bump pass side, full droop drivers side

Full droop pass side, full bump drivers side

Ride height

More tomorrow.....

Very cool, why didn't Mopar mount the upper coil buckets in that spot originally?

By the way. I really like the way your build is going. Im curious to see how good the ride is after you moved the spring and shocks on the rear. Looks professional too!

Thanks, I am hoping to get it finished today and test it this afternoon. Looking forward to the improved ride.
