Broke a rear upper shock mount, I'm gonna make a new one

So, last saturday took 3 friends in my TJ with a 2" bb to a nice and hidden waterfall in a very complicated trail... and in a certain point in the way back the rear left upper shock mount broke, heard the noice but couldnt really find the problem until we where in a more even ground...

So I had to remove the shock bc it was actually starting to damage itself, along with the fuel tank and the frame ... I made it back to the city and now I need to have this thing fixed while I get my new lift...

So, anyone has any ideas that might help or measurements of something like a BPE? any suggestions before I start making a mes tomorrow at the shop?

Actually... Its the perfect excuse to justify my lift... I was thinking of a 3" rustys, but now im more convinced of getting a RE7000-3 i found it with shocks SYE and CV for a very reasonable price... so Im going for it...

BTW,... i didnt get it ... why are you so happy to outboard the rear shocks? HEEELPPP ....

I'm just gonna take a stab here and gues your shocks are probably too long. You're bottoming out the shock and putting all the weight of the jeep on the bar pin. That'll break them every time. Sure the lift will help, but at a cost that doesn't make sense, unless you're just using it as an excuse.

It's cheap and fairly easy if you can cut and weld steel. Most that have done it report improved handling and the ability to run a longer rear shock. I kind of suggested it as a joke.

Why not just pop in to a local auto parts store, buy a new bar pin and put in a little extra bumpstop so the shocks don't bottom out?

Get some Warrior brand pins for replacements. They are Solid, not the crimped tube crap.
