Broke ignition

Between the key cylinder & the ignition switch is the steering column lock. The brittle die cast part on my '05TJ broke.

Chrysler says I have to buy that tiny part as an assembly which includes the steering column for $700.00. Even if I wanted to part with $700.00 Chrysler says there is a back order for 240 (70 in Canada & 170 in the US) with no plan to fill that back order.

Anyone else have this problem?

Many thanks Renegade88. Looks like Dorman is everywhere.

Modern Motors in Calgary AB knew what I needed and ordered it in. I pick it up in an hour !!! It might be a jobber part but at $68.00 it solves the problem of starting the Jeep with a screwdriver.

Kudos to Modern Motors and thanks very much. They have sold me most of my Jeep parts over the years including a lift kit and seats for my YJ.
