Brake Problem

Hello, new to the forum. Have a 2000 sport, saw brake fluid dripping from right rear tire. Drove home, felt like the brake where locked up, jeep would not coast very well. Got home removed tire, fluid everywhere, had wife pump brakes fluid leaked out of hydraulic cylinder, then I saw the adjuster lever cable was broken. With this cable broken, does this cause the cylinder to expand to far out causing the leak! Thanks for your help!

Your wheel cylinder is FUBAR, get a new one. Replace cable, shoes & associated hardware on both side since one side is shot.

No, you just happened to have two separate issues in the same brake.

FYI- pushing the brake pedal with the drum off will ruin a cylinder.

I drive on the right side, what's wrong with you?

Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfunction or uninstall themselves at any time.
