Brake block issue and Axle vent bolt length?

I am redoing the brake lines on my 8.8 (had them jerry rigged before), I picked up the block for the rear but installing it the right way won't work as it will interfere with the track bar and gas tank. Will it hurt to flip it over?

Normal-

Reversed-

Also does anyone know if the D35 vent/block bolt is longer than the 8.8 bolt? I am only getting about 1/2 a turn of threads engaging. Or would it be OK to just grind the block down some?

I can't see why it would be a problem flipping it over.
Get a junkyard bolt from another vehicle, or grab a few in different lengths. I think napa also sells bulk stuff like that.
