body armour for 02 TJ

Hey everyone, I am a new member to jeep forum but have been looking around gaining ideas for my build. I have a black 02 TJ (sorry no pictures right now, will post later). I bought this jeep about 6 months ago and it has the double tube fenders with 2 log lights and 2 KC daylighters. Its sitting on 33'' bfgoodrich all-terrains with a 2" body lift and i dont know what suspension it has as i am new to this. it also has 6" bushwacker "pocket" flares. I am interested in buying some body armor. I cant decide between the black diamond plate or just the diamond plate and I wondering what you guys think.. sorry for no pictures they will come later.. thanks in advance

The diamond plate typically is more for looks than function. I'm sure its better than nothing but not much better. Check our some stuff from companies like Gen-Right, Kilby and Currie to name a few but there are a ton of others if you want function. If you are going more for the "look" the diamond plate will be just fine.

thanks for the tips everyone! i forgot to mention that i would like a set for a reasonable price but still have some function to them. Looking at the prices of the Gen wright ones i could only afford to do one set (rear corners). What do you guys think now?

Do you have an oil pan skid? I would focus on under body skids before I would look at corners.

if your doing it just for looks then go with the diamond, but if you really want some function then go with the rokmen, gen-right or one of the others listed. if your talking about the diamond plate "armor" i think you are then they are just plastic, the others listed are steel and offer some real protection. if it was me i would just buy it one set at a time.

I went with a set of diamond plate steel from OYR. I ordered them in bare steel and was able to finish them how i wanted. I can put up pics if you want...
