Blower fan speed(s)?!

Fan only works on the high setting. None of the slower fan speeds work.
Is this the switch itself or the blower relay ubder the glove box?

Oh, man, I'm going to pick up a resistor for mine tonight. I was betting that's what it was. I read some others having fried wiring- I hope that's not it.

same here, I got the HIGH only, hoping it's just the resistor. I don't have time for problems this weekend......or any weekend in fact.

had the same problem with mine little over a year ago- it was in the switch itself and i'm told it's actually quite common. all you have to do is pull the switch assembly apart and bend the little connectors back out a bit. what happened with mine was that over time the strikers (or whatever they're called) behind the dial inside the switch mechanism bend away just a little, losing their contact. it's kind of a pain in arse getting the switch apart, but i'm guessing your problem is in fact the same mine was. mine went from only having settings lowest and full (2nd and 3rd stopped working), to only full, then nothing. bent the connectors and now every setting works like new.
half hour of your time vs. having the shop tell you that you need an entire unit replaced...

Wiring changed in newer models but 97-99 might be the 20A fuse behind the glove box. High speed is supplied by a fuse in the underhood pdc.

--Don't know if I just got lucky-- it was the resistor--(pack?) hmff. electronic piece of plastic. It was covered in condensation and the front left edge was split open and you could see the corrosion pushing it's way out.
Someone a while ago suggested running the fan on normal to dry up the internal parts before shutting it off. I'm going to do this too.
--And what a spot to get at.
