Blinker noise goes off randomly, but the blinkers dont flash

This problem started about a month ago, stopped for a few weeks, and is now worse than ever. When the jeep is on, the clicker noise for the blinkers starts going off at random. None of the lights are affected, including the indicators on the dash. Sometimes the clicking sound goes faster or slower than if i was using the blinker. Theres nothing actually wrong with the functioning of the jeep, but the clicking noise annoys the crap out of me.

I haven't accidentally left the top down, and no electronics could have gotten wet.

Could this be the clockspring? someone else told me it might be the flasher? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

the " click " sound you hear comes from the flasher relay, which is located under the driver side dash.

Im not familar with an issue, but there maybe a problem with the relay, and i'd start with that. I think i picked mine up for about 25 bucks or so a few months ago.

good luck

x2 on relay. Go to a NAPA or Autoparts. Should have a good price

You need to change your blinker fluid seriously though had the same thing and couldn't figure out on my nephew's jeep. Tested the relay and everything come to find out he had a loose wire in the steering column. Pull off the bottom plastic cover on the column and check your wiring. May not be your problem but it's worth a look.
