Black Magic Pads on my 1998 TJ - Short Review

Just a quick report back on the results of installing Black Magic brake pads and Centric rotors on my 1998 TJ. Bottom line is I am very happy with the results. We just got back from a 2-week wheeling trip in the Rocky Mtns of Colorado where I got to test my brakes on several occasions. The BM brakes are definitely more effective than the stock brakes or the Performance Friction pads I had. The BM pads worked better when cold or hot. If I had to put a seat-of-the-pants percentage on it I would estimate that they have somewhere between 20% and 30% more stopping force than what I replaced. I had to stop a couple of times on steep uphill climbs and basically hang on the brakes for a while. The BM pads provided a much stronger hold than what I had before. They were almost “grabby”, but grabby in a good way. Anyway, I’m 100% satisfied with the results.

I would expect no less from them.
