A "billet" of aluminum just means that it is one piece as opposed to being fabricated from a few pieces and welded together. Billet is not a level of quality and the term could easily be interchanged with piece, as in "This is made from a piece of aluminum". It is a marketing ploy so I would say go for the cheapest ones that are well made.

I imagine you'd get more noise in the cabin, and I can't think of any positive reasons to use solid aluminum for a BL. Sounds like a gimmick to attract billet fetishist/boy racer types.

I had bought and installed a set of Teraflex billet body lift pucks on my first Jeep. Ploy or boyricer racer or what ever I will tell you this..after buying a less expensive poly lift kit (i.e. Performance Accesories brand) I quickly returned the "poly" pucks and spent the extrs dough on the Tera Kit. The self centering/aligning lift pucks was without a doubt the quickest eaisest modification I made to that Jeep, and I would without a doubt buy those "billet" pucks again even if it makes my current jeep look like a "ricerracer" what ever

I went with MORE alum pucks mainly because I got a great deal on them, but second, I like the idea of not having to worry about them cracking or rotting like Polys.

It's a 1" lift. You would only get more noise if you stupidly removed your stock rubber mounts and tossed them.

Purely contextual.

So they're meant to be used in conjunction with the stock pucks? That makes perfect sense.

I came across this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT. It seemed like a reasonable price but is the quality anygood. I don't care about looks I just want to do a BL . I'm up for suggestions based purely on experience.

That extra bit of height makes a difference if you are trying to go flat with a belly skid. I run an 1 3/8's just because I didn't want any more body lift than necessary.

I came across this site on the JKS it's not priced to bad and shipping is free, although it suggest to use a motor mount kit so I'm back to my first question is this necassary (motor mount lift)?

Here's an review on the BBl, MML.

Installed the JKS 1.25' body lift kit along with the JKS MML kit and an OME suspension lift on a 2004 Jeep Rubicon. Not a bad install, the rear ones are tough, but some buddies helped and it went very smooth, not more than 3 hours for the install. The ride is great!

I just bought those BL & MML Spacers from them. Great on the phone, ordered Monday, got it Wednesday as promised. I'll install tonight or tomorrow morning. I can't answer for you if you need the MML, but I will because of my OBA.

1" BL

I installed the Currie 1" BL on my TJ. The pucks were some type of black plastic and measured 1 1/4 ". The kit included new rubber supports for the front grill area. I installed the MORE 1" BL on my wife's Rubi and the kit came with 1" aluminum pucks, a relocation bracket for the transfer case shifter, a riser for the steering support, and spacers to go under the rubber grill supports. I also installed a MML on both. If you get aluminum pucks, I read that it is a good idea to put anti-sieze compound on the bolts to keep them from corroding inside the pucks.

Both kits had their unique installation difficulties.

Currie kit: The rubber grill supports were a PITA to install.
The MORE kit: Had to install shifter relocation bracket and steering support bracket. Also, I had to paint the pucks because I didn't like the looks of the plain aluminum finish.

Some things for you to consider.
