Better Gas Mileage?

I am looking to get a bit better gas mileage with my new 03 Sahara, it is mostly stock. I am getting about 15-16 MPG. Driving 50 miles daily is starting to kill me at the pumps. What are some good mods that i can do to improve my gas mileage? Without draining my bank account.

Also If i put a 2-3 inch lift with 32s or 33s (all terrain tires) will my gase milage suffer much more?

graft a ferarri body over your jeep...remove the engine and only go down hills..
honestly, .there is vitually NOTHING you can do to be economical in a Wrangler, they are BRICKS, especially highway speeds. If it is killing you, buy a roller skate (an old Corolla, Civic) and save the Jeep for pleasure-sorry

Drive like a little old lady, and you might see a difference, that's about it. Or move closer to work. That's what I decided to do, only three more weeks of commuting an hour each way.

Instead of spending tons of money on upgrades that give you like .2 extra mpg. Save it for the fuel itself.

it was said by another person on this site..

Jeeps aren't known for for good MPG in the first place... think of it as FUN PER GALLON and it seems to make it all better..

And live by this... JEEP stands for JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!

Just about everything you could possibly want to know about fuel efficiency and a Jeep is in this article -
Improve MPG: The Factors Affecting Fuel Efficiency.

Interestingly, though, I'm trying to come up with an override circuit or OBDII codes to force the trim values to be at a certain setting. I pulled off 400 miles per tank twice after taking the rack off my roof which implied the trim settings had adjusted to compensate for the extra drag. Without that drag, the vehicle was performing great but it naturally recentered itself for maximizing emissions.

If gas milage is important a jeep is not the auto to go with, heck my camaro gets better milage than my jeep, I average 17.4 With AC on about 40% of the time on my 04 X, 4.0 5pd. But thats when I'm driving a tad more agresive than I should.
