Best/cost efficient way to gain HP and gas mileage

I just bought a 2005 jeep wrangler rubicon and am trying to add a little HP while most importantly gaining gas millage. I have looked at throttle body spacers, COI, and a performance chip.

Not much will help a whole lot. What you get with the 6 is what you get.
Sure mods help but you dont gain a mess load unless you were to ad a turbo or a supercharger.

You're driving a 2-ton brick. Did you expect it to be efficient?

oh great...here we go again.

1. Do a search
2. Search again.
3. Search one more time.
4. Buy a Civic.

hey congrats on the Rubicon, yeah not much you can do on the power. just take it easy on the gas pedal for the MPG. you just have to get used to it beeing a jeep and not a sedan, you will adapt to its drivability in no time. Good luck

Do you think that this will improve gas millage and which one if any do you recommend?

what is "this"?:brickwall:brickwall

seriously, everything you asked about has already been covered many times. click the search function at the top of the screen. heck, one of those things you asked about is even linked in my signature.

Thanks, this is my third jeep but first wrangler and I LOVE IT! My jeep grand leredo that I just got rid of got better gas millage..... That is the funnny thing about the gas millage.

The only thing to help the mileage is to go easy on the skinny pedal. The only thing those mods will do is lighten your wallet faster than the gas pump does!

if you want power then drop a turbo or maybe a 350 conversion.....if you want gas milage then swap out for a honda

None of the above.

Search "Throttle Body Spacer" or "TBS" and save yourself from buying an expensive paperweight.

The TJ's stock airbox/intake is about as unrestrictive as it gets for the 4.0

What is "this"? Seriously, listen to us. You can't do much, if anything, for a power/mileage increase until you spend much more than you would EVER make up with the slight yield in fuel efficiency. Just live with it....don't beat on it, make sure your air filter is good, run good plugs, and keep the oil fresh. You'll be maximizing your mileage and power at that point, so be happy with it.

Do you think a "turbo charger" will improve the gas millage and if so which one?
