BDS 3" Lift Kit Installation Completed!
I just wanted to give a huge thanks out to this forum. I am a long time lurker and have absorbed quite a bit of information over the past couple of years. Today I just completed the installation of my second lift kit. This was a BDS 3" on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 33x12.5R15 Cooper Discoverer ST's.
Everything went smoothly and I am definitely pleased with the results. If anyone has any questions about the quality of BDS or the ride just drop me a line and I will let you know all about it. By the way, does anybody need any stock replacement springs or a stock trac bar for the front? Before pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see I overlooked the oversized spare and therefore must place a new order for an adapter....or if I can convince my wife a new bumper with swingout tire carrier ![]()

Looks awesome man! What all did that kit come with, and do you think you will need to add anything else? I'm looking at a BDS lift as well.

The kit was very complete; coils front and back, shocks front and back, rear track bar relocation kit, bump stop extensions, front sway bar disconnects, rear sway bar links and all the hardware to go along with that. The only thing extra that I ordered was the front adjustable track bar.

I have a minor vibe but I think that is more due to the fact that the when I went to have the tires mounted and balanced they did not have enough of the large weights so they did not balance my tires at all.

Congrats... I love my BDS. You won't (shouldn't) be disappointed. I'm sure you know of the warranty (anything breaks, except for shocks, they'll replace it no questions asked). Oh, and I love the quick disco's...

Nice improvement. You have seen that those 'adapters' to run 33x12.5" tires will damage your tailgate right? The stock hinges cannot hold that much weight. The best option IMO is to look at the Bestop oversized tire carrier which opens with the rear gate, can hold a 35" tire and shouldnt cost more than $300.

That brake line looks a bit snug! Might want to get new ones or get the drop bracket. Hate to see your brakes fail on a trail!

The best advice I would give though would be to start with the back first. The directions tell you to start in the front but the back has a lot more tight spaces to deal with and thus it took me longer. I don't know about you but I was just a little frustrated that the back was taking so much longer than the front. |

Did you use wheel spacers or will the stock Ravine wheels clear 33x12.5's?

No spacers yet but I will be placing that order hopefully today or tomorrow. Scared the crap out of my wife when I didn't tell her not to turn the wheel to full lock while test driving the "new" jeep.....

Thanks for the repy.* I don't have a usable garage and live in Ohio, so I am hoping to get a day over the weekend without rain.

Good luck with the install. I probably would have had it done in a day if the shop didn't close up at 4 in the afternoon. So you should have no problems getting it done in a full day.
