battery

alright so my battery is dead so i thought that it is time to upgrade. i am thinkin of just goin dual batteries now so i wont have to later. so who is running dual batteries? what tray are you using? what kind of batteries are they? and where did you get all of it from? and about how much will it cost me? i am a college kid

Check with Kilby Enterprises
They make a dual battery kit. Comes with all the parts needed to install.
Fits dual Optima's nicely.

that Kit is a nice kit. Looks good with two red tops batterys in it. But why is it you need so much battery?

well right now i am running a set of KC's and a 800 watt amp pushing a 12 in sub quiet hard. but this summer i will be adding another set of driving lights rock lights underneath and maybe a winch too. if i dont get the winch this summer i am getting it next summer. so i feel like running all of that i will need dual batteries. am i not right in thinking this

so u guys are saying i am goin overkill by going with 2 batteries? is no one on this forum running dual batteries? and if anyone is what do they have that they need both of them

There's nothing wrong with two batteries, two is always better than one. We're just saying that you don't need two batteries for those items you mentioned, those are just minor loads so far as your TJ's OE electrical system is concerned. I've been running a single Yellow Top Optima for years in my TJ with plenty of long winching episodes and never had a problem.

1 150W amp
1 12000# winch
3 55W fogs (1 in the rear)
2 55W/65W headlights
3 100W spotlights
1 CB
1 CD player
1 XM tuner
1 ARB compressor
6 55W rock lights
1 garage door opener


all wired to:

1 BlueTop ProComp D34M battery


cause I don't ever need all of it at the same time...
