Front JKS BPE's mount with hex head bolts. Rear version uses socket head cap screws. The socket head cap screws have a tendency to strip out (the internal hex) when approaching specified torque.

Ya so that's a real bad deal especially considering if you have to swap shocks you need to take those bolts out due to design to replace shock.

Having BPEs is a pain the ***. Remove your shocks, lift the tub off the frame, break the tac welded nut off, tac a new one on, put tub back down, replace the bar pins themselves, put shocks back on, enjoy life.
I put JKS BPEs on my shocks that came with my lift and uninstalled them with haste when I got Bilsteins. I don't know if it's just Bilsteins or all quality shocks, but they come with much higher quality bar pins than the factory shocks do.

I broke a rear upper shock bolt (while on the highway) and found someone had tried to repair it previously. The shop welded a Rough Country style BPE on that side then told me that my OME Nitrocharger shock would not work with it. Is this true? I am running it with another brand shock - I hope temporarily.

I'd like to know about OME's not working with BPE's, cause thats what I was planning on going with next.

I'm pretty sure that the JKS bar pins explicitly state that they do not work with OME shocks.
EDIT: check the link towards the bottom where it shows part numbers for Jeep models.

Yes they do state that. Now what BPE are the best?
Are the RC ones okay even tho they rotate the top eye by 90"?

I didn't have a problem with the JKS ones, besides when I changed my shocks for Bilsteins and went back to bar pins. I don't think there is a 'best' because they all seem to slightly limit travel of your shocks.

Okay your second picture. Is that your actual picture of the Rough Country ones?
Because they rotate the top bushing by 90", look closely at this pic.

I see what you mean, but on an otherwise stock suspension the orientation of the shock bushing relative to the way it wants to pivot with flex really won't make much difference.
