I bought cheap wheels and nice tires because of my budget... I now have nice wheels with the same tires.
Nothing wrong with putting nice line on a cheap winch... and likely has a better chance of not having it stolen too.

I think i have 80' of 3/8 SYN line on my 9K winch.

Here is the cheapest I've found for Amsteel Blue. $2.11 a foot. Pick your color and order it by the foot. The weaving for installing a thimble or hook is simple.

This retainer is also nice. The next timw I have mine unwound I'll have one ready to use and throw the stupid retainer screw in the trash.

Doing it this way will give you a total investment of less than $400 for a 9k winch with synthetic line.

The solution to not having your winch stolen is put it on a stupidly heavy home made bumper.

Or mount the winch so you cant even get a socket up btwn the bumper and the frame due to clearance and tack weld the lower bolts of the bumper
