Axle width
Can anyone tell me what vehicles have an 8.8 or a D44 that are the same width as a TJ?

None of the 8.8 axles are the same width but they are just slightly narrower enough that aftermarket wheels that have a bit less backspacing make up for its slightly reduced width. I think most non-TJ Dana 44 axles are a bit wider.

the ford explorer 8.8's are like 5/8" narrower than a stock TJ.. that's about as close as they get (stock)

For the explorers, is that 5/8 on each side or total width?
I'd like to get something real close, as the wheels I have are only available with the backspacing I have...I think, which is 3.75". |

wheel spacers
You can get wheel spacers to widen the rear axle to keep the tires off of your fender wells your rear tires will stick out farther than your front but not so much as you would notice,
besides wider is better. Jeff
