axle ratio question

had a accident then damaged the front axle
i read about the the stock tj specs here
kinda confused about the axle ratio
if it doesnt fit my Jeep axle ratio
how it can be changed? or it is not switchable?
found a couple of used front axle on ebay

Gears can be changed in any axle you pick up. Just be warned that doing that will cost you a couple hundred dollars. Check your jeep for tags on the diff covers to see what you have. If you need one with 3.73 gears I might know of one that would work for you.

they have different ratio for same year model?

Your 03 TJ with the 4sp OD automatic 42rle tranny will have 3.73 gears from the factory.

Unless it's a Rubicon...4.11
