auto tensioner not tight

Ok, so I have a thermostat issue I'm working through, but when I put the belt back on (correctly) it isn't tight enough and the tensioner pulley is sitting way too close to the idler pulley. anyone have issues with this?

Sounds like something is wrong. Are you sure it is routed right.

def routed right. the diagram is still present on the radiator and i have a good memory of it anyways
