The cost of the 8.8 is reasonable...but not "cheap" like some make it sound....since i don't weld or gear
Thats an awesome deal man

Anybody think of selling the Aussie, getting a Truetrac and maybe alloy shafts and calling it good?

That's a HUGE cost advantage...just did a Superior CCE (27 spline). The 30 spline install is no different. Here's a link to my recent CCE + PowerTrax No Slip (Richmond) install; http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/su...l-d35-1074743/

I put the aussie locker and carrier up on craigslist for sale...if anybody is interested in buying it, let me know....I am going to save up and do an 8.8 I think....I just want to find one with 4.10 gears or higher in it already so that I don't have to regear and I can just regear my front to match. I would love to trade the rear locker I have for a a front locker for my d30 if anybody is interested

it'll be easier to find a pair of axles from a 4 cylinder TJ....they are 4.10 also

everything I read says that 4 cylinder TJ's have 3.73s stock...not 4.10s....not to mention, this doesn't address the issue of the D35 in the rear being a weak point...nor does it address the locker question

4 banger TJs have 4.10s.

This is fact.

Either way, 4.10 gears in a d30 and a d35 doesn't help me as far as the weak d35 is concerned....i could find a d30 with 4.10s and that may be cheaper than regearing mine though. I thought they had 3.73s though, not 4.10s...

What about those '98 and newer 4 banger TJs that came with the 3-speed 30RH automatic transmission that came with 3.73 and the '97 4-banger that came with the same 30RH but came with 3.55?

Well there is that wrench in the gears...Thanks Jerry lol

Ok, all 4 banger TJs with manual transmissions have 4.10 gears. (unless there is something else I can learn.)
